Overview
Within Concur, each employee has the ability to define a BI (Business Intelligence) Manager. This individual has access to delivered Concur Intelligence report data. Units can utilize the BI Manager functionality to provide key employees and administrators the ability to generate reports for the unit.
Defining your BI Manager
Concur provides the ability for employees to define their own BI Manager on the Expense Information page.
What Data Can a BI Manager Access?
The BI Manager role is designed to allow increasingly higher tiers of management a wider access to employee reporting data. For example, using the organizational chart below:
- Employees 1, 2, and 3 define Manager 1 as their BI Manager, allowing Manager 1 Concur Intelligence access to Concur reporting data for employees 1-3 (plus their own reporting data).
- Employees 4 and 5 define Manager 2 as their BI Manager, allowing Manager 2 Concur Intelligence access to Concur reporting data for employees 4 and 5 (plus their own reporting data).
- Managers 1 and 2 define Director 1 as their BI Manager, allowing Director 1 Concur Intelligence access to their Concur reporting data, plus access to reporting data for Employees 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 (plus their own reporting data).
Launching Concur Intelligence Reports
BI Managers access Concur Intelligence reports by clicking Concur Intelligence from the Reporting menu.
Types of Concur Intelligence Reports
Once in the Concur Intelligence pane, BI Managers can access four reporting folders. Below are a list of the report folders, and several reports in each folder which might be useful for unit BI Managers.
- Concur Data Warehouse – is Concur’s ad hoc query tool that only limited U-M Concur Intelligence users have access to utilize.
- Concur Intelligence – Standard Reports – contains generic reports delivered by Concur.
Note: U-M has modified some of these reports to provide departmental group and department ID prompts in The Regents of the University of Michigan folder. - Dashboard Metrics – contains visual “snapshots” of Concur travel and expense data which may be useful to track travel, expense, and spend data.
- The Regents of the University of Michigan – contains U-M modified Concur Intelligence – Standard Reports with departmental group and department ID prompts for more directed searches. Three reports departments might find most useful include:
- Approved Expense Reports
- Outstanding P-Card Transactions
- Workflow Audit
