Save, Validate, or Delete a PAR (Personnel Action Request)

Overview

This document explains the options of saving, validating, or deleting a PAR (Personnel Action Request) in the M-Pathways Human Resource Management System.

Important Information

  • Draft transactions and associated attachments are deleted after 48 business hours.
  • (blank) transactions and associated attachments are deleted nightly.
  • The transaction's status is (blank) when it is closed without clicking Save & Submit, Save as Draft, or Delete Transaction. See the Save, Validate, or Delete a PAR step-by-step procedure for more information.

    Field Descriptions

    At the end of each PAR transaction, there are four buttons to choose from. The following is a description of each option:

    Save & Submit

    • Changes the Transaction Status to Pending.
    • Sends an e-mail to the first approver with a subject line of “PAR Approval Request for <Name of person with change>".
    • Prevents other PAR transactions from being created for the employee.

    Save as Draft

    • Changes the Transaction Status to Draft.
    • Prevents other PAR transactions from being created for the employee.

    Validate Page Entry

    • Checks the PAR transaction for errors for the section you are on (Job, DBE, Additional Pay, Termination).

    Note: If there are multiple employee records within one section, the data entry on each employee record will be validated.

    Delete Transaction

    Note: If a transaction never has an "Approved" Transaction Status, this action:

    • Deletes the entire PAR transaction.
    • Deletes supporting documentation from the employee’s imaged University personnel folder.
    • Allows other PAR transactions for regular appointment(s) of the employee to be created.
